Wood Preservative Chemistry

PFS wood preservative formulations are engineered to protect wood and engineered wood products against biological degradation, including fungal decay and termite exposure.

Developed for interior and coated exterior applications, these chemistries are designed to meet regulatory requirements while supporting reliable in-plant application processes.

Application Methods

PFS preservative systems are designed for spray or dip application on panels and trim products used in interior environments or coated exterior applications. Custom blend options are available to address specific fungal and termite resistance requirements.

Hawaii Interior Specification

A dedicated spray- or dip-applied preservative formulation is available to meet interior termite and decay specifications in Hawaii, where enhanced biological protection standards apply.

Code Recognition and Compliance

PFS preservative formulations meet building code requirements for:

  • Use Category UC1
  • UC2 on Douglas Fir (DF)
  • Southern Yellow Pine (SYP)
  • OSB engineered wood products

Recognition is supported through ICC-ES Evaluation Report ESR-4472.

Technical Support and Customization

PFS works directly with customers to support proper formulation selection, application guidance, and compliance documentation. Custom blending capabilities allow adaptation to specific environmental exposures and operational requirements.
